Brattleboro Common Sense’s mission is to invigorate the political life and maximize the political influence of Brattleboro, by facilitating residents’ involvement and influence in civic affairs and town governance. We do this by:

- Conducting research into the state of civic engagement in Brattleboro and elsewhere.
- Conducting surveys to assess local peoples’ priorities and opinions;
- Promoting legislation and other policy initiatives;
- Educating and engaging the public through information distribution, issue forums, letter-writing drives, and community-building events;
- Activating resident participation in petitioning, public hearings, committees, and other government processes, about issues that are important to them;
